Azerbaijan’s National Academy of Sciences submits proposals on Shusha’s preservation zone

A report on the scientific and scientific-organizational activity of the Department of Humanities for 2021 was heard at the general meeting of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan (ANAS).

Report informs referring to the report delivered by Vice-President of ANAS, Chairman of the Scientific Council of the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences, Academician Isa Habibbayli.

Habibbayli stressed that specialists from the Institute of Architecture and Art submitted conclusions and proposals to the state bodies on determining the Shusha preservation zone, protecting monuments on this territory, monitoring, drawing up a list of monuments in front of which billboards cannot be placed.

“The conclusions and proposals were made at the request of state bodies in connection with the implementation of the Azerbaijani law "On the cultural capital of Azerbaijan - Shusha", signed by the Azerbaijani president on May 31, 2021,” academician added.
