Azerbaijan's Special Forces ready to fight in severe frosts PHOTO/VIDEO
Special forces units of the Separate Combined Arms Army of Azerbaijan have held a special tactical exercise on “Conducting combat operations in severe frosts”.
As part of the exercises, practical training was held on conducting combat and rescue operations in severe frosts, improving the knowledge and skills of the command staff in the management of units, the ministry of defence told Caliber.Az.
Tasks as moving the group through high mountains and steep slopes, moving under cover, moving on skis and using mountaineering equipment were worked out during the exercises. In addition, special forces involved in operations that always require high endurance were given various training sessions to adapt their bodies to extreme cold.
During the exercises, special forces groups, having specified tasks on a terrain model, carried out tactical actions behind enemy lines, in particular an attack on a height where the enemy was located.
After providing medical assistance to a serviceman injured during the attack, the wounded serviceman was evacuated using military transport vehicles designed for difficult terrain.
All the tasks set were accomplished during the exercises.
