Azerbaijan, Somalia discuss defence, economy, oil PHOTO
Azerbaijan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev has met with Somalia’s Minister of Defense, Abdulkadir Mohamed Nur and discussed strengthening defence ties between the two countries.
The meeting took place during Rafiyev’s visit to Somalia, Caliber.Az reports.
"Today (February 4), I received the Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev at the Ministry of Defense headquarters. We discussed strengthening ties between the two countries, particularly in the defence sector," he noted.

In addition, as part of his visit to Mogadishu, the Azerbaijani diplomat also met with Somalia’s Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Dahir Shire Mohamed.
"Shire received the Azerbaijani delegation led by Deputy Foreign Minister Yalchin Rafiyev. The meeting focused on bilateral cooperation in the oil sector and economic development. The discussions aimed at exploring investment opportunities and strengthening cooperation between Somalia and Azerbaijan," the ministry’s statement said.
