Azerbaijan will participate in the upcoming international tourism exhibition, FITUR 2025, which is set to take place in Madrid from January 22 to 26.

According to the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, preparations for the event have already begun, Caliber.Az reports.

FITUR 2025 is one of the largest annual trade fairs in the tourism sector, expected to attract 9,000 participants from 152 countries and 153,000 visitors. The event is a key platform for promoting tourism brands, discovering the latest industry trends, and creating valuable networking opportunities.

Notably, FITUR will also serve as the tourism industry’s leading business forum, where participating countries will have the opportunity to connect with professionals who promote global destinations, opening doors for new business ventures in the tourism sector. The fair will be covered by more than 1,170 media outlets, ensuring widespread exposure for participants.

Azerbaijan has been experiencing significant growth in tourism. In 2024, the country welcomed 2.63 million foreign visitors, a 26% increase from the previous year. December saw 214,678 foreign tourists, marking an 11% rise compared to the same month in 2023.

Russia, Türkiye, and India were the top sources of tourists to Azerbaijan, with 731,009, 426,241, and 243,589 visitors, respectively. Other notable contributors included Iran (210,100), Georgia (111,200), Saudi Arabia (98,100), Kazakhstan (86,300), and Pakistan (80,900).
