Azerbaijan to hold funerals for soldiers found after two years

The State Commission on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons has announced the time and place of the funeral of servicemen of the Azerbaijani Army Mammadov Farid Ajdar oglu and Abdullayev Firdovsi Mais oglu, who went missing in the border direction in the Lachin region on March 3, 2022 and whose remains were found in the Yuzbulag pasture in the Istisu village of the Kalbajar region on July 3, 2024.

The funeral of Firdovsi Abdullayev will take place on August 8 at 12:00 in the Alley of Martyrs in Ganja, and Farid Mammadov will be buried on August 8 at 14:00 in the cemetery in the Orta Garvend village of the Aghdam region, the Commission told Caliber.Az.

On March 3, 2022, Firdovsi Abdullayev and Farid Mamedov, moving from one combat position to another in the Lachin region, lost their bearings in conditions of poor visibility due to a snowstorm and died from frostbite.
