Azerbaijan, Türkiye prepare for Winter Exercises 2025 with flag exchange ceremony
A flag exchange ceremony has been held between Azerbaijan and Türkiye as part of the preparation for the joint Winter Exercises 2025.
The exercises will be held in the Turkish city of Kars in accordance with the military cooperation agreement signed between the two countries, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Azerbaijani Defence Ministry.
The flag-bearing platoon of the Azerbaijani Separate Combined Arms Army conducted a march from Nakhchivan city through the Sadarak border checkpoint to the Umid bridge over the Araz River.
At the same time, the flag-bearing platoon of the Turkish Armed Forces marched from Kars city to the ceremony venue. After the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Türkiye were performed, the flag exchange ceremony between the two countries was held at the Umid bridge.
During the event, which marked the departure of personnel and transportation of military equipment to the corresponding location, Commander of the Separate Combined Arms Army, Major General Kanan Seyidov spoke about the significance of the joint military exercises and wished success to the participants.
Following the ceremony, the units involved in the exercises departed from Nakhchivan city. According to the plan of exercises, the soldiers will carry out various combat training tasks in settlements and on terrain with challenging conditions, in snowy weather.
