Azerbaijan, UK sign contract to use drones in mine clearing operations

Chairman of Mine Action Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (ANAMA) Vugar Suleymanov has said that a contract was signed with UK Arpies NRC company for aerial research during a demining operation in the Azerbaijani territories liberated from the Armenian occupation.

“Researchers are currently exploring the area through drones and various devices,” APA quotes Suleymanov as saying.

“Research results are processed via artificial intelligence. This is of particular importance for facilitating the work of sappers,” ANAMA chairman added.

He noted that 18 mine clearing vehicles, which are used in the liberated territories, have been purchased.
