Mauritanian visitor praises reconstructionefforts in Karabakh
The restoration of religious monuments and the large-scale construction of new towns in Karabakh has drawn praise from international visitors, including Baba El-Bekai, a traveller from Mauritania.
El-Bekai said that his visit to a mosque in Aghdam was particularly moving. As a Muslim visiting from a Muslim country, he described the experience as deeply emotional and highlighted the importance of learning about the people who lost their lives during the conflict between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He noted that Karabakh has a rich and profound history that left a strong impression on him, Caliber.Az reports via local media.
El-Bekai also commented on the rapid pace of reconstruction in the liberated territories. He observed that just a few years ago, the region had virtually no infrastructure, whereas today modern cities have been built. He described these government-led efforts as producing impressive results.
The visitor added that he planned to share his experience with family and friends back home and expressed his intention to return to Karabakh, describing the region as a place well worth visiting.
