New group of former IDPs moves back to Azerbaijan's Khojavand, Khojaly “Great Return” progresses / PHOTO
As part of the state program “Great Return” initiated by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, new groups of former internally displaced persons departed for Khojavand city and Khanabad village in the Khojaly district on the morning of March 19.
Currently, 46 families (177 people) are returning to Khojavand, while 19 families (89 people) are relocating to Khanabad, Caliber.Az report per local media
These individuals had previously been temporarily housed in dormitories, sanatoriums, children’s camps, and unfinished or administrative buildings.
Following the decisive victory of the Azerbaijani Army in the Patriotic War under President Ilham Aliyev, former displaced residents now have the opportunity to return voluntarily, safely, and with dignity after 30 years.
Residents expressed gratitude to the head of state and First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva for comprehensive state support and thanked the Azerbaijani Army for liberating the lands, honouring the memory of martyrs who gave their lives for this cause.
