Azerbaijan, UNFPA address climate change consequences for demographic sustainability PHOTO
Azerbaijan's Permanent Representative to the UN, Tofig Musayev, and Florence Bauer, the UNFPA Regional Director for Eastern Europe and Central Asia, recently held discussions on the consequences of climate change.
According to Caliber.Az, Bauer shared the meeting details on her social media page, X.

She wrote, "Honored to meet H.E. Ambassador Tofig Musayev, the new Permanent Representative of Azerbaijani Mission in UN. We discussed the impact of climate change on reproductive health following COP29 and our joint work to advance Demographic Resilience and gender equality in Azerbaijan."
Earlier, Musayev spoke in New York about the region's investment potential.
He participated in and delivered a keynote address at an event titled “Cooperation between Türkiye, Georgia, Azerbaijan, and the United States in the Field of Business” which was held in Turkish House, New York.
During his speech, Musayev emphasized the importance of regional energy and transportation projects in strengthening the economic ties between Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Georgia. He highlighted the success of trilateral cooperation, which has been crucial in developing infrastructure and enhancing connectivity in the region. Musayev also noted that these initiatives not only drive economic growth but are essential for maintaining regional stability and security.
Furthermore, Musayev stressed the vast investment opportunities in Azerbaijan and the broader region, particularly in sectors such as energy, infrastructure, and technology. He underscored that these investments are key to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting economic development, innovation, and environmental sustainability.
