Azerbaijan unveils new phase in restoration of Kalbajar’s Istisu PHOTO
Chairman of the Azerbaijani State Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev has shared images of the future vision for the Istisu settlement in the Kalbajar district.
The construction of this settlement was launched on September 2, 2024, with the laying of the foundation by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, Caliber.Az reports.
Located in the western part of the Kalbajar district, the Istisu settlement will cover an area of 63.1 hectares and will be developed in phases.
In the first phase, which will encompass 39.2 hectares, the plan includes the construction of 159 private houses.
Overall, the project aims to build 159 private homes, 71 townhouses (142 apartments), and 10 multi-story buildings with 180 apartments.
The settlement will also feature essential social and infrastructure facilities, including a school for 352 pupils, a kindergarten for 100 children, an administrative building, sports and wellness centres, a club, a medical centre, and a sports field.
The Istisu settlement is designed to meet modern urban planning standards and is set to become a significant regional centre in Karabakh and Eastern Zangezur.
