Azerbaijan unveils number of wheat harvest

This year, more than 152,000 tons of wheat were harvested in the agricultural parks of Azerbaijan on an area of 41,000 hectares.

The remarks came from the Agency for the Development of Economic Zones under the Ministry of Economy, Report informs.

As part of the new support measures arising from the decree of the President of the country "On a number of measures to increase the level of self-sufficiency in food wheat", this year it is planned to increase wheat crops on the subsoil plots of agricultural parks by 52% or by 11300 hectares - up to 33,000 hectares. Over the next 5 years, it is projected to bring the pilot sites to 100,000 hectares, and the production of food wheat in agricultural parks - up to 143,000 tons in 2023.
