Azerbaijani delegation set to visit Pakistan for investment talks

An Azerbaijani delegation is scheduled to visit Pakistan in February to explore potential investment opportunities, particularly in the country’s road infrastructure projects.

According to Pakistan's Ministry of Communications, Privatisation, and Investment, the visit was agreed upon following the recent trip of Minister Abdul Alim Khan to Azerbaijan, Caliber.Az reports.

"Minister Khan held talks with Azerbaijan's Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, in Baku. During the meeting, an agreement was reached for an Azerbaijani delegation to visit Pakistan in February to assess investment prospects, especially in the M-6 and M-9 motorway projects, which link Karachi with Sukkur and Sukkur with Hyderabad," the ministry stated.

Discussions also covered potential collaboration between government and business sectors in road construction. Minister Khan highlighted the importance of enhancing transport connectivity from Pakistan to Central Asian nations, stating that both Baku and Islamabad could make significant strides in this area. He emphasized the promising prospects for bilateral cooperation in transportation and logistics.

The Pakistani minister further underscored the historical, religious, and friendly ties between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, stressing the need to strengthen these relationships.

During the Baku meeting, Rashad Nabiyev reaffirmed Azerbaijan’s commitment to expanding cooperation and fostering investment partnerships with Pakistan. "The upcoming delegation visit will be a crucial step towards deepening economic ties between our countries," Nabiyev said.

The ministers also discussed joint investments under public-private partnership models, particularly in railway and road transport infrastructure, as well as other strategic transport projects.
