Azerbaijani delegation heads to Kazakhstan for Turkic electoral platform launch

A delegation from the Azerbaijani Central Election Commission (CEC) will participate in the establishment of a Consultative Platform of the highest electoral bodies of the member states of the Organisation of Turkic States (OTS).

The delegation, headed by CEC Chairman Mazahir Panahov, has travelled to the city of Turkistan in Kazakhstan at the invitation of the Chairman of Kazakhstan’s CEC, Nurlan Abdirov, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.

This initiative aims to further strengthen ties between the electoral bodies of OTS member countries and expand mutually beneficial cooperation in the area of experience exchange.

During the visit, the Azerbaijani delegation will take part not only in the signing ceremony of the founding document but also in an international conference titled “The Turkic World: Traditions, Experience, and Prospects for the Development of Electoral Systems.”

The delegation also includes CEC Deputy Chairman Rovzat Gasimov and Deputy Head of the Secretariat Hasan Kazimzada.

The visit program includes meetings with the heads of the top electoral bodies of OTS member states and other officials, as well as discussions on interagency relations and other matters of mutual interest.
