Azerbaijani envoy slams Armenia for offering alcoholic drinks to tourists at Tepebashi Mosque PHOTO
Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Iran, Ali Alizada, has condemned the offering of alcoholic beverages to tourists at the devastated historic Tepebashi Mosque in Yerevan.
In a statement posted on social network X, Alizada denounced the act as a continuation of Armenia’s past mistreatment of Azerbaijani religious and cultural heritage, Caliber.Az reports.
"Armenia, which insulted and completely destroyed all our mosques in Karabakh during the years of occupation, currently continues to insult the Azerbaijani mosque in Irevan and offers alcoholic drinks to tourists in the Tepebashi mosque. Measures from the international community and organizations are necessary, and this vandalism must be prevented," the ambassador stated.

The Tepebashi Mosque, historically associated with Azerbaijan’s cultural and religious presence in Yerevan, has long been a subject of concern regarding its preservation and use. Azerbaijan has repeatedly raised the issue of the destruction and desecration of its religious sites in Armenia, particularly following the decades-long occupation of Karabakh.
