Azerbaijani language classes launched in Denmark to support cultural education PHOTO

12 June 2026 15:33

An Azerbaijani language school has opened at the House of Azerbaijan in Denmark, marking a new initiative aimed at strengthening cultural and linguistic ties among the Azerbaijani diaspora.

According to the State Committee for Diaspora Affairs, the programme offers instruction in reading, writing and speaking Azerbaijani, alongside lessons in national history, literature and culture, Caliber.Az reports.

The educational process is designed to reflect age-specific learning needs and incorporates modern, interactive teaching methods.

Local Azerbaijani residents in Denmark have reportedly expressed strong interest in the initiative, saying it will help preserve national identity, enable children to communicate more effectively in their native language, and strengthen their connection with Azerbaijan.

The committee noted that there are currently 33 Houses of Azerbaijan operating across 21 countries worldwide, along with more than 90 Azerbaijani weekend schools in 24 countries. It also provides participating schools with textbooks and teaching materials to support instruction.
