Azerbaijani people ready for peace with Armenia, official says
Armenia and other states has accepted the peace agenda proposed by Azerbaijan in light of new geopolitical realities, Matin Mammadli, head of department at the Centre of Analysis of International Relations, has stated.
At an event titled New Geopolitical Realities in the South Caucasus: Azerbaijan and the Peace Agenda, he said Azerbaijan’s peace initiative is based on universally recognised norms of international law and the sovereignty of states, Caliber.Az reports, citing local media.
Mammadli noted that the Azerbaijani people and society are ready for peace.
“The peace agenda has been formed based on principles put forward by Azerbaijan. The acceptance of this peace agenda and the new geopolitical realities [by Armenia and other states, editor’s note] was not easy. It became possible thanks to the well-considered foreign policy and diplomacy of the Azerbaijani state after the Second Karabakh War,” Mammadli added.
