Belarus to check combat readiness at borders with Poland, Lithuania

Units of a mechanized brigade stationed near the Belarusian border with Poland and Lithuania have been put on alert to carry out combat readiness tests.

The troops are material support units of the 6th separate mechanized brigade of the Western Operational Command (stationed in Grodno), Interfax reports with reference to the Belarusian Defence Ministry..

"The units will have to perform a number of training and combat tasks at training ranges and areas of terrain. After the completion of preparatory activities, the personnel will have to practice the whole range of tasks to provide the troops with the necessary reserves of materiel," added the ministry.
