Belarus warns Lithuania of approaching “point of no return” in bilateral relations
In Minsk, there is a clear understanding that, while it is not too late, steps must be taken away from the edge of the abyss and back towards constructive cooperation, said Belarusian Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov.
He noted that these steps must be taken by the Lithuanian side today, as in many areas, such as economics, logistics, and interpersonal contacts, since we may simply approach a "point of no return", Caliber.Az reports via Belarusian media.
"In the realm of interpersonal relationships, we may simply be approaching a point of no return. History will not forgive us for this,” Ryzhenkov emphasised.
According to Ryzhenkov, Minsk has repeatedly conveyed its readiness to consult with Vilnius on restoring normal neighbourly relations.
“We are ready to resume contacts between border and special services, sectoral ministries, and foreign ministries. We can begin working with parliamentarians and any authorised Lithuanian delegations,” Ryzhenkov said.
He also claimed readiness to develop a roadmap for unblocking cooperation in specific areas, naturally based on the principles of respect for Belarus' sovereignty and independence and its right to follow its own path of development in cooperation with partners.
