Blast rocks street outside US Embassy in Norway’s capital
An explosion occurred near the U.S. Embassy in Oslo, Norway, causing minor damage but no injuries, local police chief Michael Dellemir told NRK.
“We will not comment on the nature of the damage, what exploded, or similar details—except to confirm that an explosion occurred. The reason for this is that the investigation is still at a very early stage,” Dellemir said.
Police are currently interviewing witnesses, searching for suspects, and inspecting the scene. Sörkedalsveien, the street where the embassy is located, has been closed to traffic.
According to VG, bomb disposal teams and forensic experts are on site, supported by dogs, drones, and helicopters. Witnesses reported hearing a loud bang, followed by a cloud of smoke that enveloped the area.
