Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva said in an interview with The Washington Post that he asked US President Donald Trump to lift the economic blockade on Cuba.
The Brazilian president stated that Cuba’s government is ready for dialogue and “needs a chance.”
“What I know is if the United States opens a negotiating table, not one based on impositions, Cuba will participate,” he said.
Lula da Silva also noted that Trump assured him there are no plans to invade the island.
