A dry bulk carrier linked to Bulgaria has run aground in Russian waters of the Black Sea, leaving 11 crew members on board.
The Vanuatu-flagged vessel Happy Aras was en route from the Bulgarian port of Varna to Novorossiysk when it ran aground near Cape Zheleznoy Rog in Russia’s Krasnodar region. The crew subsequently requested evacuation, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.

The incident occurred after a storm warning had been issued in the region a day earlier. Authorities reported strong winds, with gusts reaching 20 to 25 metres per second, which may have contributed to the grounding.
