Cairo backs Iran–US deal, urges inclusive peace process
Egypt’s Foreign Minister has welcomed the memorandum between Tehran and Washington during a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, emphasizing that the agreement should reflect the concerns of all parties and contribute to lasting regional security and stability.
According to Egypt’s Foreign Ministry, Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty told Araghchi that the memorandum represents an important step toward reducing tensions, preventing further escalation, and limiting instability in the region, Iran International reports.
Abdelatty also welcomed close coordination with regional and international partners, expressing hope that ongoing talks will result in a final and durable agreement, the ministry said.
He stressed that the emerging understanding should take into account the interests and concerns of all sides, framing it as essential for achieving sustainable peace and stability across the region.
