Canada’s Prime Minister Carney urges Russia to stop strikes on Ukraine
Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney has called on Russia to “immediately cease strikes” on Ukraine, urging an end to the conflict.
In a post on X, Carney said Russia is prolonging “human suffering.”
“For more than four years since Russia’s illegal invasion, it has greatly underestimated the courage, determination, and strength of the Ukrainian people — even as Putin’s regime has relentlessly bombed Ukrainian energy infrastructure, schools, hospitals, and homes.
We call on Russia to immediately cease these strikes and end this illegal war of aggression. They prolong human suffering and do nothing to change the fact that Russia will lose this war,” the minister added.
He also stressed that Canada will continue working with international partners to ensure a just and lasting peace in Ukraine and across Europe.
