China aims for crewed Moon landing by 2030 Space program official confirms
China is targeting a crewed Moon landing by 2030, Lin Xiqiang, Deputy Director of China Manned Space Agency said.
Speaking at a press conference, Lin stated, “We have set a goal—to realise the landing of the Chinese on the Moon by 2030. In this regard, we are comprehensively promoting the process related to research and production activities,” Caliber.Az reports per Russian media.
He highlighted that the testing of a lunar manned spacecraft is currently underway and is “progressing smoothly.” This ambitious plan follows previous statements from NASA Administrator Bill Nelson, who noted that the United States has initiated discussions to obtain lunar soil samples collected by China during its Chang'e-6 mission.
Additionally, reports from SpaceNews in September indicated that China has unveiled a concept for a spacesuit designed for its taikonauts, intended for use during manned missions to the lunar surface.
