Latvian FM says she hid in bomb shelter during Russian attack on Kyiv

Latvian Foreign Minister Baiba Braže has said she took cover in a bomb shelter during Russia's massive overnight air attack on Kyiv while on a two-day visit to Ukraine.

Speaking alongside Ukrainian counterpart Andrii Sybiha at a joint press conference, Braže expressed condolences to the families of those killed in the attack, Caliber.Az reports, citing European Pravda.

"We also took shelter in a bomb shelter here in Kyiv. It was not the first, and unfortunately, it will not be the last," she noted.

Braže stressed that although "the Russians may shatter windows and destroy buildings," they "will never be able to destroy Ukraine or its spirit."

"They are incapable of breaking the Ukrainian people. And that is the most important conclusion to draw from this visit and all of these discussions," the Latvian foreign minister added.
