China flags Japan’s conversion of warships into aircraft carriers

Chinese Ambassador to Moscow Zhang Hanhui has said Japan is converting military ships into aircraft carriers and developing medium- and long-range missiles.

In an article for Russian media, the diplomat said Japan had “for the first time” re-exported Patriot missiles and begun exporting military frigates, which he said violated restrictions on the export of lethal weapons.

“Japan is engaged in converting military ships into aircraft carriers and developing medium- and long-range missiles,” Zhang said.
