China reaffirms Russia partnership not directed at third countries
China's Foreign Ministry has reiterated that its strategic partnership with Russia is not aimed at any third country, emphasizing the principles of non-alignment and non-confrontation in their cooperation.
During a press briefing, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning responded to remarks by Russian President Vladimir Putin about growing Russian-Chinese cooperation, particularly in the context of Washington’s containment strategy, Caliber.Az reports citing Russian media.
Ning affirmed that the relationship between China and Russia is based on a "strategic comprehensive coordination partnership" and is not intended to provoke or target other nations.
"China-Russia cooperation is built on the principles of non-interference, non-confrontation, and non-targeting third parties," he said.
"China believes that rivalry between major powers does not align with modern global trends, and policies of containment and suppression are increasingly losing support."
Foreign Ministry official’s comments underline China's position that its growing ties with Russia should not be viewed as a challenge to other countries but rather as a partnership aimed at fostering mutual development and global stability.
