China vows to intensify mediation efforts in global conflicts
The Chinese government has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing the resolution of major international conflicts, including the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, according to Vice Foreign Minister Chen Xiaodong.
Speaking at a Foreign Ministry event during the Xiangshan Security Forum, Chen underscored China's role as an active mediator and advocate for global peace, Caliber.Az reports via Russian media.
“China will continue to be a constructive force, engaging with all relevant parties to facilitate political solutions to the world’s most urgent issues,” Chen stated.
On the Ukraine crisis, Chen revealed that China is focusing on fostering a deep, ongoing dialogue with all stakeholders involved. “We are working diligently to build consensus and create favourable conditions for peace negotiations,” he said. Chen emphasized that China's approach is to engage all parties in meaningful discussions to pave the way for a durable resolution to the conflict.
In addition to its efforts in Ukraine, China is also focusing on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Chen indicated that China is pushing for an immediate ceasefire and is committed to increasing humanitarian assistance in the region. “Our goal is to support efforts for a swift end to hostilities and to boost aid to those in need,” he explained.
Chen also highlighted China’s broader objectives in the Middle East, including its support for Palestinian national unity. “We are committed to aiding Palestine in strengthening its national cohesion and achieving full membership in the United Nations,” he added. Furthermore, China plans to convene a major international peace conference aimed at developing a detailed roadmap for the "two-state solution," which envisions a peaceful resolution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
