Chinese humanoid robot sets world record by walking 106 kilometres in three days
A humanoid robot developed by Chinese robotics firm AgiBOT has set a new Guinness World Record after completing a 106 kilometres journey from Suzhou’s Jinji Lake to Shanghai’s Bund, marking the “Longest Distance Walked by a Humanoid Robot.”
The robot, known as A2, travelled continuously for three days and three nights, running non-stop with the help of hot-swappable batteries that allowed the team to replace power units without interrupting its movement, Caliber.Az reports per CyberRobo on X.
AgiBOT’s humanoid robot A2 just achieved a Guinness World Record.

AgiBOT said the feat tested the robot’s endurance across real-world conditions, with A2 navigating city streets, highways, tourist areas, bridges, slopes and tactile paving. Equipped with dual GPS modules, a LiDAR sensor and an infrared depth camera, the robot was also able to operate reliably in low-light nighttime environments.
Despite covering more than 100km, A2 remained in strong operating condition by the end of the challenge, with only minor wear visible on the rubber soles of its feet.
The company said the long-distance mission served not only as a demonstration of technological capability but also as a way to stress-test the robot’s components under extended operation. It added that such tests could provide customers with a consistent benchmark for evaluating humanoid robots during procurement.
AgiBOT plans to scale up deployment of the A2 model in 2025, with more than 1,000 units expected to be used for front-desk reception, guiding visitors, deliveries and sorting tasks.
