Civilian killed in Russian drone strike on Ukraine's Kherson region
A civilian was killed and six others were injured in Ukraine's southern Kherson region following a series of Russian attacks.
According to the Kherson Regional Prosecutor's Office, a 62-year-old man was killed when a Russian drone struck a public transportation stop in the village of Shyroka Balka at approximately 4:10 a.m. local time on June 1, Caliber.Az reports.
Prosecutors said a pre-trial investigation has been launched into the incident under charges related to a war crime resulting in death.
Separately, Kherson Regional Administration head Oleksandr Prokudin reported that six people were injured across the region during the previous 24 hours as Russian forces carried out drone, air and artillery attacks on dozens of settlements.
Among the communities affected were Beryslav, Antonivka, Bilozirka, Stanislav, Kizomys, Komyshany and the regional capital, Kherson, according to Prokudin.
The attacks damaged seven apartment buildings, 17 private homes, a gas pipeline, garages and vehicles. Authorities also evacuated three residents from recently liberated communities in the region.
