Construction of Barda-Aghdam highway continues in full swing PHOTO/VIDEO

The construction of the Barda-Aghdam highway, one of the large-scale projects on the revival of road infrastructure implemented in the territory of Karabakh and East Zangazur economic regions, continues in full swing.

Anar Najafli, head of the press service of the State Road Agency of Azerbaijan, told Caliber.Az that in accordance with the order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, large-scale construction work is carried out to restore the road infrastructure in the areas liberated from the long-lasting Armenian occupation.

One of such projects is the Barda-Aghdam highway, which is 44.5 km long.

The four-lane road is being built in accordance with the first technical class.

To date, all earthworks have been finished, the construction of two bridges with a length of 91.3 and 18.2 meters built on the 25th and 40th kilometers of the road has been completed, and the construction of the road base is nearing completion.

Asphalt concrete is being laid on the ready part of the road - from the 12th to the 45th kilometer. Asphalt-concrete pavement is also being laid on the 2.2-kilometer section of the road, passing through the town of Barda.

It should be noted that the Barda-Aghdam highway passes through Barda and Aghdam cities, and in general covers more than 20 settlements.
