Czech republic offers to reverse Druzhba pipeline to supply oil to Slovakia
The Czech Republic enable oil flows to Slovakia in Russian oil deliveries, Industry Minister Karel Havlicek running from Italy to Germany and connecting to the Czech network.
Prague has previously considered reversing the flow of its section of Druzhba to provide oil to Slovakia in case of shortages, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.
"We offered Slovakia the possibility of using the reverse flow of the Druzhba. In other words, we are ready to start investing in technical measures so that oil can be supplied from the Czech Republic to Slovakia," Havlicek said after meeting in Prague with Slovak Economy Minister Denisa Sakova.
Havlicek added that the initial investment would total up to 1 billion Czech crowns ($47 million). The ministers said tens of thousands of tons of oil a month could be delivered this way under an emergency regime, with annual capacity potentially rising to 2–3 million tons over the next two to three years.
