Deadly Ghana chopper crash claims top government officials PHOTO
A tragic helicopter crash in Ghana on August 6 claimed the lives of eight individuals, including two senior government ministers.
As reported by Pulse Ghana, the military aircraft went down near the town of Adansi Akrofoom in the Ashanti Region while en route to a planned launch of a joint initiative focused on mineral extraction and skills development. The helicopter reportedly vanished from radar shortly before the crash.

Emergency response teams arrived promptly at the scene, where they discovered the wreckage engulfed in flames.
Among the deceased were Ghana’s Minister of Defence, Edward Oman Boahen, and the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.

The crash also took the lives of several other prominent figures: the Deputy National Security Coordinator, a former Minister for Food and Agriculture, a deputy leader of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), a former parliamentary candidate, and three crew members of the Ghana Armed Forces.

In a national gesture of mourning, flags across the country are being flown at half-mast to honour the victims.
Authorities have launched a formal investigation into the cause of the crash, which remains undetermined at this time.
