Death toll from Typhoon Dujuan in Japan rises to nine

The death toll from Typhoon Dujuan in Japan has risen to nine after the storm brought heavy rain and flooding to the greater Tokyo area, Japanese media reported on September 23.

Rescue workers were continuing to search for four people missing in the neighbouring prefectures of Chiba and Kanagawa, Caliber.Az reports via foreign media.

Four deaths had initially been reported on September 23.

Typhoon Dujuan, the 25th typhoon of the season, has since moved out over the Pacific after causing particularly severe damage in Chiba, where landslides and flooding were reported.

The region was also affected by heavy rain and flooding in August and early September.
