Deputy FM: Hostile US policy halts strategic stability talks with Russia
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov has said that there is currently no basis for negotiations between Russia and the United States on strategic stability due to Washington's hostile policy.
“Now there is no possibility, prospect and basis for us to conduct such negotiations, given the deeply hostile, anti-Russian, aimed at inflicting on us the so-called strategic defeat of the line, which the US and its allies in Europe adhere to,” the diplomat said, stressing that there will be no negotiations until there are no changes on this line, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.
Ryabkov also said that a new meeting of representatives of the countries that are members of the so-called “nuclear five” - these are states that possess nuclear weapons in accordance with the treaty on their non-proliferation - will be held in the United States in the near future.
The diplomat stressed that if the United States resumes nuclear tests, Russia will quickly respond in a mirror-like manner.
