Direct Belgrade–Baku flights coming soon, Air Serbia confirms
Air Serbia, the national carrier of Serbia, is close to finalising negotiations with the Azerbaijani side on the launch of direct Belgrade–Baku flights, scheduled to begin next summer.
According to local media, the airline’s CEO, Jiří Marek made the announcement in an interview with Radio and Television of Serbia (RTS).
Marek noted that Air Serbia is also evaluating the possibility of opening a new route to the Middle East.
“In Europe, we plan to further expand our network and introduce new destinations. Following the successful launch of the direct route to Tbilisi, we are now in the final phase of negotiations on initiating our next route to Baku. A final decision will be made soon. We are also considering a destination in the Middle East,” Marek told RTS.
He also highlighted the airline’s cooperation with the Kazakh carrier SCAT, which began operating direct flights from Astana to Belgrade in early November.
“We are additionally working with Royal Jordanian Airlines — the national carrier of Jordan — on the planned launch of flights from Amman in April of next year,” the Air Serbia CEO added.
