“Door is not closed”: Mediators seek to restart US–Iran talks
13 April 2026 14:41
Mediators from Egypt, Pakistan, and Türkiye are planning to organise a new round of talks between the United States and Iran in the coming days.
The meetings aim to overcome remaining differences and reach a peace agreement before the ceasefire arrangements expire on April 21, Caliber.Az reports, citing Axios.
A regional official stressed that the sides are “not in a complete deadlock,” adding: “The door is not closed yet. Both sides are bargaining. It's a bazaar.”
Weekend peace talks between the US and Iran ended without a deal.
US President Donald Trump says they failed because Iran wouldn't "give up its nuclear ambitions" while Iran's foreign minister blames "shifting goalposts" from the US.
