Drone attacks in Tula, Oryol regions damage gas station, school

Ukrainian drone attacks struck both Tula and Oryol regions, causing damage to buildings, the governors announced.

Governor Dmitry Milyaev wrote on Telegram that Ukrainian drone attacks caused damage when debris hit the windows of an educational institution in Aleksin and a gas station in Suvorov, Caliber.Az reports.

Meanwhile, Governor Andrey Klychkov said that in one district of Oryol Region, a private house and an outbuilding were damaged during a drone strike, with no casualties.

Governors of other affected regions — Smolensk, Yaroslavl, Ryazan, Kaluga, and Moscow Region — limited comments to Ministry of Defence reports on intercepted drones or warnings about potential drone threats, such as in Lipetsk Region.

Kursk Region Governor Alexander Khinshtein had not commented on intercepted drones over his area at the time of publication.

Ukraine launched what Moscow described as a “major aerial attack,” with Russian air‑defences claiming to have downed 287 unmanned aerial vehicles over various Russian regions including the capital. Flights from all major Moscow airports were diverted as a result.

This drone assault came on the same day when Ukrainian sea drones reportedly disabled the oil‑trading tanker Dashan in the Black Sea, part of Kyiv’s broader strategy aimed at Russia’s “shadow fleet.”

In recent months, Kyiv has repeatedly targeted Russian oil infrastructure — refineries, fuel depots, pipelines and transportation links — using drones as a means to undermine Russia’s war economy.

Earlier in 2025, the Kyiv‑backed strike operation Operation Spiderweb destroyed or damaged dozens of long‑range Russian strategic aircraft at multiple airbases — a demonstration of Ukraine’s growing capacity to strike deep inside Russia.
