EAEU moves to digitise technical regulation framework
The Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) is preparing to shift the development of product safety requirements into a fully digital format, in a move aimed at modernising technical regulation across the bloc.
The initiative was outlined by Alexander Subbotin, Minister for Technical Regulation at the Eurasian Economic Commission, Caliber.Az reports, citing Kazakh media.
The “Digital Technical Regulation within the EAEU” project will transfer the drafting of safety standards into a digital environment and provide open access to regulatory documents and compliance assessment procedures, he said.
Subbotin urged all stakeholders involved to take the necessary steps to ensure the project is launched within the current year.
A coordination meeting on the initiative was held under his chairmanship, where participants reviewed implementation progress and discussed outcomes of recent deliberations at the Eurasian Economic Forum in Astana.
The Eurasian Economic Commission said the coordinating group will oversee overall project management, monitor implementation, resolve contentious issues, and organise acceptance procedures.
