Egypt pushes for joint Arab force to counter Iran threats

Egypt’s foreign minister, Badr Abdelatty, urged the creation of a joint Arab force to safeguard the sovereignty of Arab nations in response to Iran’s attacks on neighbouring countries, according to the foreign ministry.

Speaking at an emergency Arab League meeting chaired by the United Arab Emirates, Abdelatty emphasised the need to strengthen Arab national security to safeguard the region’s sovereignty, Caliber.Az reports per Iranian media.

“(He) pointed in this context to the need to activate frameworks for joint Arab cooperation to effectively deal with existing threats, including the formation of a joint Arab force,” the ministry’s statement added.
