Egypt to host Gaza Peace Summit with leaders from 20 nations Azerbaijan on the invited list
The Peace Summit marking the ceasefire in Gaza will be held on October 13 in Egypt’s Sharm el-Sheikh, with Azerbaijan among the invited 20 countries.
The office of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi said in a statement that leaders of 20 countries have been invited to the event, Caliber.Az reports.
Participants are expected to discuss further steps to maintain the truce between Israel and Hamas, as well as the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip.
Iran has also been included in the list of invitees to the Gaza summit, while Israel will not be represented at the event.
Official invitations to the Gaza summit, which is scheduled to take place on Monday in Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt), have already been sent out.
Meanwhile, Axios correspondent Barak Ravid noted on his X account that the list of invited countries has been significantly expanded and now includes Spain, Japan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Hungary, India, El Salvador, Cyprus, Greece, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Canada.
