Envoy proposes Azerbaijan-Russia parliamentary meeting in Karabakh

Russia’s Ambassador to Azerbaijan, Mikhail Yevdokimov, has proposed holding an upcoming inter-parliamentary meeting between Russia and Azerbaijan in the Karabakh region, suggesting the city of Shusha as a possible venue.

Speaking during the business panel “Investments in the Caspian Region,” Yevdokimov said a meeting of lawmakers from the two countries is scheduled to take place in June on Azerbaijani territory, Caliber.Az reports per local media. 

“I support the idea that this meeting should not necessarily be held in Baku, but perhaps in Karabakh, for example in Shusha, so that our parliamentarians can also see the extensive work that has been carried out in these territories,” the ambassador said.
