Envoy: Qatar hosted Hamas leaders at US request, just as Taliban officials

Qatari authorities hosted the leadership of the Palestinian Hamas movement, as well as members of the Afghan Taliban, at the request of the US administration, US Special Representative for Syria Tom Barrack has stated.

Commenting on the situation around the Gaza Strip, the US Special Representative stated that US President Donald Trump has a plan for the Gaza Strip and that the current situation must end, Caliber.Az reports via an Arabic news channel. 

However, Barrack said that a (temporary) ceasefire (between Hamas and Israel) will not succeed, adding that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin "Netanyahu does not care about borders or red lines and will do anything, anywhere, if he believes Israel is being threatened."
