Epicentr shopping centre catches fire after Russian strikes in Ukraine

A shopping centre caught fire and a private house was damaged in a Russian overnight attack on Ukraine’s Zaporizhzhia, leaving 1,200 consumers without electricity, the ASTRA Telegram channel reports, citing the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.

According to Ivan Fedorov, head of the regional administration, the blaze at the private house was later extinguished, with no casualties reported.

A video posted by Fedorov showed a shopping centre belonging to the Epicentr chain on fire.

The Epicentr chain has sustained damage to its facilities from Russian attacks since at least spring 2022. In May 2024, 19 people were killed in a strike on an Epicentr hypermarket in Kharkiv, Ukraine.
