Erdogan, Zelenskyy discuss Kakhovka HPP collapse
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has held a telephone conversation with Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
During the conversation, Erdogan proposed to create an international commission with the participation of Russia, Ukraine, the UN and the international community, including Turkey, which will investigate what happened, TRT Haber reports, citing the Turkish presidential administration.
The Turkish president also added that Ankara is ready to do "everything in its power" and use the method of negotiations to resolve this situation, as when concluding a grain deal.
Russia and Ukraine exchanged accusations on June 6 over the destruction of a major dam in southern Ukraine.
The UN Security Council convened an emergency meeting requested by both countries following the collapse of the Kakhovka dam in the Russian-controlled territories of Ukraine early on June 6.
