Turkish, Hungarian leaders discuss strengthening bilateral ties
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a phone conversation with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on May 31, focusing on bilateral relations and current regional and global developments, according to a statement from Türkiye’s Communications Directorate.
During the call, President Erdogan reaffirmed Türkiye’s commitment to enhancing cooperation with Hungary across a range of sectors. He highlighted the upcoming meetings of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council and the Joint Consultation Mechanism as key opportunities to further deepen ties between the two nations, Caliber.Az reports via Anadolu.
Erdogan also extended birthday greetings to Prime Minister Orban during the conversation.
Türkiye and Hungary elevated their relationship to a strategic partnership in 2013 with the launch of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council. Since then, bilateral cooperation has steadily grown, particularly in the political, economic, and cultural spheres.
