EU ambassadors to review sanctions on Russian “shadow fleet”
European Union ambassadors are expected to review a new round of sanctions targeting nine individuals and entities connected to Russia’s so-called “shadow fleet,” Europe Editor for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty Rikard Jozwiak wrote on X.
According to Jozwiak, most of the people and companies in question are based in or closely linked to the United Arab Emirates, Caliber.Az reports.

He also noted that the European Commission’s proposal for a Ukraine reparations-related loan mechanism is scheduled to be circulated to EU member states on December 3. Ambassadors are likely to hold their first discussion on the proposal on December 5.
With the next EU summit set for December 18, Jozwiak said the clock is ticking for member states to reach a political agreement on both the sanctions package and the financial mechanism for Ukraine.
