EU expands Russia sanctions, adds more than 80 individuals to blacklist
The European Union has imposed additional sanctions on Russia, adding more than 80 individuals and entities — including some from countries considered friendly to Moscow — to its sanctions list, the Council of the European Union has stated.
The new measures also target a number of journalists and bloggers, Caliber.Az reports, citing the Council.
Among those targeted were some affiliated with RT.
Those sanctioned include:
· Lukoil-Western Siberia;
· Several journalists and bloggers, including contributors to RT;
· Metropolitan Tikhon of Simferopol and Crimea;
· the Presidential Foundation for Cultural Initiatives;
· Gazpromneft Shipping.
The latest package forms part of the EU’s ongoing sanctions regime against Russia.
