EU preparing for war with Russia, claims former Serbian official

Aleksandar Vulin, Serbia’s former deputy prime minister and former head of the Security and Information Agency, has accused the European Union of preparing for an armed confrontation with Russia and of attempting to pressure Serbia, which he described as a neutral country, into choosing sides.

Vulin made the remarks while commenting on statements by EU Commissioner for Enlargement Marta Kos, who recently said that the time had come for Belgrade to choose its position, Caliber.Az reports, citing Russian media.

According to a statement released by his press service, Vulin rejected the suggestion and sharply criticized what he described as EU interference.

“Marta Kos thinks that if she can influence the choice of some of the Serbian government’s members, or the demands of Serbian protesters, she can also influence the people of Serbia in order to make them treacherous like Montenegro or obedient like Albania,” Vulin said.

“That is why she is sending us a signal that the time has come to choose a side in a conflict in which we are not taking part,” he added. “The European Union is preparing for a war with Russia, but it wants others to sacrifice their lives in this war.”
